Argentina, The Institute of Corporate and Public Governance (IGEP)
​ - is a non-profit civil association based in Argentina and dedicated to studying, developing and promoting the best governance practices in business, non-governmental and public organizations. The IGEP promotes the professionalization and permanent training of the members of the boards of companies and organizations, through the development of the knowledge, skills and abilities that are essential to provide suitability for their professional performance. It also constitutes the professional meeting point, both for current corporate directors and graduates of training and certification programs in company direction.

Australia, the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) is committed to excellence in governance. We make a positive impact on society and the economy through governance education, director development and advocacy. We have more than 41,000 members, including directors and senior leaders from business, government and the not-for-profit sectors. Internationally, we deliver world class governance courses and events, and have approximately 1,600 international members in more than 70 countries across Asia, the Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and America.

Brazil, Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC), a non-profit organization, is Brazil's main centre for the development of best Corporate Governance practices. The IBGC organizes talks, lectures, forums, conferences, training courses and networking events for professionals, publishes books and conducts researches. The Institute also offers a Certification Program for Directors and Fiscal Council members, offering additional insight into a range of issues vital to improving their business performance.

Canada, Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) is Canada’s voice to and for directors and boards in the for-profit, not-for-profit and Crown sectors. As the national community for directors, the ICD is a not-for-profit, member-based association with a network of over 12,000 members and 11 chapters across Canada. The ICD fosters the sharing of knowledge and wisdom through education, professional development programs and services, and thought leadership and advocacy to achieve the highest standard of directorship.

Europe, The European Confederation of Directors’ Associations (ecoDa) is a not-for-profit association based in Brussels, acting since March 2005 as the “European voice of directors”. As a regional association of director organisations it is an Affiliate Member of GNDI. Through its national institutes of directors (the main national institutes existing in Europe), ecoDa represents around fifty-five thousand board directors from across the EU member states. ecoDa’s mission is to promote good corporate governance and improve the effectiveness of boards of directors and/or supervisory boards, particularly by means of appropriate director training, professional development and boardroom best practice.

Germany, Vereinigung der Aufsichtsräte in Deutschland e.V. (VARD)
Founded in 2012, is the voice for German supervisory board members ('Aufsichtsrat'). VARD’s members and stakeholders are represented in almost all seizes of companies and industries. VARD established its thought leadership in Germany by publishing professional standard guidelines for supervisory board members. VARD is a well recognized member within the ecoDa organization. Through its initiative 'Deutsches Corporate Governance Institut' VARD offers education, matching, research and other services and the bi-annual GermanBoardConference ('Deutscher Aufsichtsratstag').

Gulf States, GCC Board Directors Institute (GCC BDI) ​ Launched in 2007, GCC Board Directors Institute (GCC BDI) is a not-for-profit organisation that guides board directors of organisations, from family-owned businesses to listed companies, to acquire the know-how and the tools to reach and sustain effective governance. GCC BDI was founded by four leading regional corporations - Investcorp, SABIC, Saudi Aramco and Emirates NBD - and by four advisory firms: Allen & Overy, Heidrick & Struggles, McKinsey & Company, and PwC.  GCI BDI’s services include open enrollment and tailored in-house workshops, director and board secretary certification programmes, board evaluations, online tutorials, seminars, conferences, and an annual flagship Chairman Summit event, among others. It also publishes a biennial survey report on board effectiveness across the GCC. The institute is proud to have over 1700 board directors and senior C-suite executives from across the GCC as our members, each with extensive experience of operating at the highest levels of business.

Hong Kong, Hong Kong Institute of Directors (HKIoD) is Hong Kong’s premier body representing directors to foster the long-term success of companies through advocacy and standards-setting in corporate governance and professional development for directors.  A non-profit-distributing organisation with membership consisting of directors from listed and non-listed companies, HKIoD is committed to providing directors with educational programmes and information service and establishing an influential voice in representing directors.

Ireland, Institute of Directors in Ireland (IoD)a is a dynamic network with over 3,000 members drawn from companies large and small in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.  As the foremost voice in the debate on improving corporate governance standards, IoD Ireland is dedicated to developing and improving the effectiveness and performance of directors and boards throughout Ireland.  Our key focus is the professional development of our members by offering key services such as director training, board services, access to insight and expertise through online and print resources and networking opportunities through inspirational events.
Israel, Israel’s Directors Union (IDU) offers a variety of support services for directors, including business information, training programmes, professional advice, placement services for directors and networking opportunities. IDU represents the interests of directors in front of the Knesset and financial regulators, while coping with the changing environment. Given the global nature of the Israeli economy, members of IDU are keen to develop international relations with fellow directors and to learn about their experiences and best practices. Our International Relations Committee is dedicated to developing our mutual exchanges with other GNDI member organisations, including Directors’ delegations and joint seminars.

Malaysia, Malaysian Alliance of Corporate Directors (MACD) provides a membership entity for directors and leaders dedicated to improving the expertise, professionalism and status of our members; promotes sound corporate governance to influence the conduct of business and public affairs for the common good; and provides education, information and networking opportunities for members.

​Mauritius, Mauritius Institute of Directors (MIoD) is Mauritius' premier director organisation. It aims to champion best business practices and effective corporate governance, supporting Mauritius as a regional leader; and to be the voice of Directors, through training and certification programmes, workshops and networking events, advocacy, research and thought leadership, reaching out to both private and public sector enterprises.

New Zealand, The Institute of Directors (IoD NZ) promotes excellence in corporate governance, represents directors’ interests and facilitates their professional development through education and training. The IoD offers members a Chartered Membership pathway through Member, Chartered Member to Chartered Fellow. This pathway raises the bar for New Zealand directors and positively differentiates IoD members who must commit to continuing professional development. The IoD also offers a number of services for boards to help improve board competence and achieve best practice. The Governance Leadership Centre (GLC) is the IoD’s research, policy, and thought leadership hub and it keeps members up-to-date on key governance issues and current best practice.

Pakistan, Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG) is Pakistan’s premier institute striving to promote good Corporate Governance in the country. A not-for-profit initiative, the institute provides information on corporate governance issues and developments and acts as a platform to provide members as well as non-members with value-add services, activities and networking opportunities. PICG organizes conferences, seminars and lectures independently or otherwise for its members and the public at large. PICG collects and circulates corporate governance information and provides research materials to members in a pursuit to enhance accountability of management to stakeholders including employees, customers, suppliers of the corporation, and the environment in which the corporation does its business.

Philippines, The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) is a non-stock, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the professionalization of Philippine corporate directorship. With a membership of over 300 Fellows, the institute is recognized as a national and regional resource for corporate governance policy advocacy, fora for discussions and training of directors. It is the only entity in the Philippines that has been accredited as a corporate governance training body by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Insurance Commission, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and Governance Commission for Government-Owned and -Controlled Corporations. Since its establishment in 1999 by Chairman Emeritus Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao, ICD has established relations with key foreign entities involved in corporate governance such the OECD, the Asian Development Bank, the International Finance Corporation and the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum. The institute also serves as the domestic ranking body of the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard which measures the adherence by publicly-listed companies to corporate governance best practices.

Russia, Independent Directors Association (IDA) is a membership organization uniting more than 1000 Directors and Senior Executives. The IDA is the leading director’s association and authority in the field of corporate governance in Russia. It works closely with regulators on a wide range of complex corporate governance issues, including recommendations for improvement of the Russian corporate governance code, listing rules, and amendments to legislation. The Association is a well-known organization for directors’ professional development, and it provides an acknowledged platform for the exchange of practical experiences through seminars, membership events and networking. Since its foundation in 2002 the Association is chaired by Alexander Ikonnikov - the leading advocate for improved corporate governance and BoDs’ efficiency in Russia with more than fifteen years’ experience serving on the boards of Russian and European companies.

Singapore, Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) is Singapore’s national association of company directors. SID promotes the professional development of directors and corporate leaders. It works closely with authorities, regulators, its members and other professionals, to pursue the highest standards of corporate governance and ethical conduct. Formed in 1998, membership of SID comprises mainly directors of Singapore publicly listed and other companies, lawyers, accountants, academics and other corporate governance professionals. In addition to individual membership, SID has also introduced corporate membership, to become a one-stop corporate governance resource base for the corporate community.

South Africa, Institute of Directors in Southern Africa (IoDSA) is one of the oldest directors’ institutes and the founder of the world-renowned King Reports on Corporate Governance for South Africa. The Institute provides networking and information sharing for members, board advisory services as well as director development for individuals and organizations.
